I'm 29...and Owen update

So, I am much overdue for an update.  This little ole blog is really my virtual baby book for both boys, so I am WAY behind on updating on Owen's progress.  First I will start with, I turned 29 this week and I am excited for this last year of my twenties.  I am in no way upset to leave them behind and join the thirties next year.  I mean my twenties were fun, but I think I have always been an old lady at heart.  Given the opportunity to go out or stay home and get 8+ hours of sleep, I will choose my bed EVERY time.  This is not a new development either.  Mark asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday evening and I told him I wanted to rent a movie on amazon and snuggle in bed with my boys.  It was a PERFECT evening.  :-)

Ok, now for Owen's update.  Next week he will be 5 months.  They always tell you the second one goes by faster than the is so true.  Here is a small list of his accomplishments:

-Rolled over for the first time (belly to back) before her turned 4 months on July 30th.  I even happened to be sitting in the room to watch him do it.

-Rolled from back to belly on August 3rd but couldn't get arm out from under his belly.

-Some time mid August figured out how to pull his other hand out from under his belly and has been a rolling fool ever since.  This past week he has really gotten the hang of it and as soon as I lay him on the ground he rolls.

-Went to his 4 month check up on August 21st (19 weeks old) and he weighed 13 lbs 2 oz and was 25 3/4 inches long.  He is staying on a good growth curve but on the lower end for weight and above the 50th for length.

-For the past several weeks he has decided that he wants to wake up multiple times in the middle of the night to eat.  I am attributing this to a 4 month growth spurt.

- He was cleared to start cereal and stage 1 baby foods at his doctor's appointment.  He tried his first cereal this past week and as soon as some fruit and veggies were introduced with the cereal he has gone to town eating.  He does very well with the spoon and was ready to start solids.  Starting the solids has not changed his nursing schedule one bit.  He is still on a steady nurse every 2.5 to 3 hours schedule. Video posted below shows his first trial of plain cereal on August 21, 2014.

-Smiles ALL the time and has started giggling when I tickle him.  He thinks his daddy is funny (see video below).

-Absolutely loves when Eli engages in him.  Eli has learned that when he talks to Owen by repeating his name in a high pitched voice that Owen will smile from ear to ear.  I LOVE watching them interact.  Eli is in love with "HIS BRUBER!"

-Started playing in his jumper play gym and has learned how to get some of the toys to move and is starting to figure out how to use his hands.

-Constantly has his hands in his mouth with drool everywhere.  He finds his thumb frequently but uses it as a chew toy instead of a sucker (so far).
